Danny Willett is the 2016 masters champion! Danny Willett, 2 weeks ago wasn’t even sure if he was going to the Masters. His wife was due to have a baby today, April 10. His wife had the baby on March 30, so Danny Willet was able to go to the Masters. Obviously, he showed how thankful he was for being able to go to the Masters, BY WINNING THE GREEN JACKET!

On the other hand, Jordan Speith was looking to become the first person to win back to back Masters. He was looking very impressive during the first 3 days of the Masters, having the lead all to himself at the end of each day. He was also looking solid through the first 9 holes of the 4th and last day. Some people thought he would be able to run away and win the green jacket with ease. But we were wrong big time. On the 12th hole it was a complete disaster where he got a quadruple bogey. Speith looked liked he had a shot to come back at the end but he failed. Here are the top 5 scorers at the end of the tournament:

  1. Great Commentary Warner! It was indeed a very exciting finish (as exciting as golf gets). I found myself at first rooting for someone other than Spieth, but after he lost the lead I was rooting for hm to make a comeback. He did not give up and mounted a comeback, but it was just too big a deficit to overcome. I think I am becoming a Jordan Spieth fan – at least until Tiger comes back 🙂

    1. I just cannot be a Tiger fan anymore. I generally try to root for the old guys, but it seems only the very young are making it to the front of the pack recently . . .
